Executive Committee

Reading Swimming Club has an Executive Committee which oversees the strategic direction of the club and meets six times a year. The Executive Committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting every year at the AGM by the members of RSC. There are a number of members of the Executive Committee who manage the organisation and running of the Club. These are the Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Membership Secretary, Treasurer, Welfare Officer, Liaison Officer, Home Meets Manager, Away Meets Manager, Swim 21 Coordinator, Volunteers Coordinator, Fundraising Officer, Masters Secretary, Waterpolo Secretary and Teaching Programme Administrator.

Management Committee

This committee handles the day-to-day running of the club and is appointed by the Executive Committee at its first meeting after the Annual General Meeting.

Management Committee for 2023/24 consists of Chair, Vice Chair, Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, Membership Secretary, Communications Officer, Home Meets Officer, Away Meets Officer and Liaison Officer.

Coaching Team

The Coaching Team consists of a passionate team of coaches. The Head Coach is a full-time role while other coaches are volunteers.

Learn to Swim Coordination

The Learn to Swim Programme has a committee that oversees its activities. Its managers are Susie Buxton (LTS Coordinator) and Oliver Buxton (LTS treasurer).

Presidents and Life Members 

The President of the Club, whose role is to represent the Club and who must be a member of the Club, shall be elected at a General Meeting of the Club, on the recommendation of the Executive Committee, and shall hold office until death or resignation unless removed by a resolution passed at a General Meeting. Vice-Presidents shall hold office until death or resignation unless removed by a resolution passed at a General Meeting.

The Executive Committee may elect any person as an honorary member of the Club for such period as it thinks fit, or as a honorary life member, and they shall be entitled to all the privileges of membership except that they shall not be entitled to vote at meetings and serve as Officers or on the Committee unless any such person shall have retained, in addition, their ordinary membership of the Club. Such honorary members must be included in the Club’s annual return as to membership.

Officials and Volunteers

During the Home and Away Meets the Club relies on Officials and Volunteers to help run the meet.

The Club is dependent on the help from its' volunteers, it would not run without them
