Reading Swimming Club, established in 1885, is one of the oldest in the country, and a founding member of the Berks and South Bucks County ASA. We are a large and progressive club, encompassing a learn to swim programme, development and senior squads, a thriving Masters squad (all abilities from social swimmers to world-ranked competitors), and a strong water polo section. Our headquarters are at Central Pool, Battle Street, Reading, and we use a number of other venues for training and teaching. Our main club night is Thursday, when swimmers train from 4:30 p.m. at Central, and the club's management and members of the large volunteer team are on hand to answer your questions. |
Swimmer of the Month - December 2011Natasha MuirNatasha is a member of the Club's County Squad and is currently coached by Gordon Dart who has given her this award on her continued commitment to training. She works hard on everything she's asked to and more, making her the ideal selection for this month. Her favourite event is the 200 Backstroke and her least favourites are the 100 and 200 Breaststroke. She has done very well this year and has achieved Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire County qualifying times in 100 and 400 Freestyle along with 50, 100 and 200 Backstroke. Natasha is a pupil at Leigthon Park School, where PE and Art are her favourite subjects.
Away from the swimming environment, 'Tash' enjoys both Skiing and dancing but preferably not at the same time!! |

Reading gains promotion
Winners, Maxwell from Aylesbury stormed to an easy overall victory but this was expected with a team that contained 13 national swimmers and an old friend, Craig Gibbons, who will be taking part in next years Olympic Trials. An ex-Reading swimmer, Alex Perrin, will be joining us with his Dorking team who gain promotion in 3rd place. But Saturday evening was all about our youngsters and with help from some of our top Masters swimmers, we are now back in Division One West for next seasons campaign. Thank you all and well done. |
