TRAINING CHECKLIST
Particularly aimed at Top District / National, but hey, start early!
Do you ...?
- Do you maintain correct stroke technique at all times?
- Do you start each workout with a correct dive?
- Do you take at least two strokes out of each turn or dive before breathing?
- Do you finish each repeat as if it was a finish of a race (head down, no breathing from flags in)?
- Do you total concentration when doing stroke drills?
- Do you consistently work on streamlining?
- Do you always leave on the correct time during repeats?
- Do you always look at the clock and take note of your times and heart rates during repeats?
- Do you always do correct technique in turns and correct pullouts in Breast starts and turns?
- Do you often start on alternate arms in Back sets, so as to develop turns on both arms?
- Do you always work on hypnoxic breathing patterns when asked, such as every 2 strokes on Fly?
- Do you keep an accurate logbook?
- Do you record all your competition times in your Log Book?
- Do you always approach your training with a positive attitude?
- Do you believe that a champion has to try to work hard/well, even if he/she feels like it or not?
- Do you contribute to a positive environment, either through your work rate or attitude?
- Do you never intentionally miss laps during workout, even if the opportunity was there?
- Do you worry if someone with a lower PB constantly beats you in tough workouts?
