Reading Masters

Masters Swimming Section

Don't be put off by the name - The Masters Swimming Section of Reading Swimming Club offers training to swimmers aged 19 years and over. The squad is a mix of fitness, competitive and social swimmers, training at a variety of levels. All sessions are coached programmes.

If competitive swimming is your thing though - we boast a team of swimmers how compete at high levels - Our swimmers like Carol Eyles, Nigel Salsbury and Karl Buchholtz appears in the Fina top 10 world ranking list for 2005. At the recent National Masters Short Course Championships, Katie Henderson broke the British Masters Breaststroke Record in her class.

But you don't have to intent on swimming in competitions. We are approximately 60 members, but room for more. Why not come along and try? Sessions cost around the same as a public swim (although without Reading passport to Leisure etc) and it's heaps better than doing it on your own.

Swimmers can choose the number of sessions they wish to swim each week and fees are set accordingly. We find the majority swim between 2 and 3 sessions a week.
