A message from the Head Coach, Graeme

Overall very pleased with the championships, younger swimmers had the opportunity of competing over two days for the first time, which gives them valuable experience and preparation for forthcoming meets. For the more experienced swimmers it was a great chance to check their race skills before they embark on more stroke specific events at up-and-coming open meets. 

It was great to see some records being broken at a time in the year which is more associated with hard training than race specific preparation. 

It was also very pleasing to see some new faces helping out with the smooth running of the meet. As we all know, without the help and goodwill of club officials and helpers, we wouldn't be in a position to run a meet such as the club championships, and I for one wouldn't want to miss seeing the smiles on the younger swimmers faces as they proudly pace the poolside with their first ever medal (or batch of medals as it seemed for a number of them!)
